9) Watching your weight

Keeping a healthy weight is important in reducing the risk of another stroke. A way to help you get started towards a healthy body weight is to work out your Body Mass Index or BMI. This is a measurement that health professionals use to work out a healthy weight for your height and body frame.

Use the BMI calculator below to check where you are on the index. If you have lost a lot of weight recently or are concerned about your BMI speak to a health professional.
